books....
My latest book, Breakthrough On the New Skis, has already gone through several printings. It is not just a minor updating of my classic original Breakthrough On Skis book, but a brand-new creation. I wrote it from scratch. And I think it is the best and most useful ski writing I have ever produced.

Harald Harb's important book, Anyone Can be An Expert Skier, has also gone through an evolution and has now become a two volume set. Well done Harald! Harald's books and new video are all available from amazon.com. Harald Harb is one of the most innovative ski coaches I have ever met and his books and videos belong in every serious skier's library. In addition, his books contain some of the best ski-technique sequence photos ever shot. You can also visit Harald Harb's website at:

boot alignment....
I'm really excited to tell skiers everywhere that Jim Lindsay, who runs his own boot-alignment specialty shop at Aspen Highlands last year, now has a very informative web site that covers the whole topic of custom ski boot alignment in detail. Jim's shop is called BOOTech, and you can visit his web site at:

www.BOOTech.net

Jim is quite simply the most savvy and skillful boot alignment specialist I have ever worked with. His shop shares space with the ProMountain ski shop in the brand new base-village complex at Aspen Highlands. You can reach Jim for appointments and information at 970 429 3272 or through his web site. Jim's alignment expertise was featured in a segment of my third Breakthrough On Skis video, The New Skis. He also does boot alignment for members of the US Ski Team.

K2 skis....
We are currently in a period of remarkable progress and innovation in ski design. For many years now I’ve used - and fallen in love with - K2 skis. K2 is one of the most creative ski companies anywhere, an outstanding pioneer in the development of the super-sidecut or “shaped” skis that have revolutionized our sport.

Every season, it seems, K2 pushes back the boundaries of high perfomance ski design. For several seasons my favorites skis for packed slope skiing have been shorter than normal skis, similar in geometry to a World-Cup slalom ski but more forgiving. and designed to be skied in a length 20 or 30 cm shorter than "normal" shaped or super-sidecut skis (mine are only 167 cm long, and they ski like a dream).

other resources....
I've enjoyed an exciting relationship with Aspen over the last decade or so. Aspen was the site of my intensive ski weeks (still continuing — please see the ski courses page — and it was also the perfect location to film all my Breakthrough On Skis videos. Aspen ski slopes are probably the least crowded (and among the most beautiful) in Colorado. You can check out the Aspen website at

For many years CompleteSkier.com was the most popular, interesting and, well, complete skiing web site in the UK. It provides a splendid English-language introduction to the whole world of international skiing, especially skiing in the Alps. But several seasons back they changed their name. You can now visit them at

thanks...
I owe many thanks to all the friends, skiers, students and colleagues who have made my skiing and ski-teaching life such a satisfying adventure. But most recently I owe a special thank you to Rod Daynes of superpage.com, an avid skier and web-design wizard, who volunteered out of the blue to help me set up the very convenient on-line purchasing capacity of this web site. Thanks Rod, and good turns!
