Ski Travel

I don't know how many times I have been asked: "Lito, what is your favorite ski mountain?"  Of course, I have quite a few favorites, but my answer is always the same:"A new mountain, one I've never skied before."

Skiing a new mountain, sometimes in a new country, adds another dimension to a good day on skis, the down-mountain dance of beautiful runs and graceful turns blends into something like exploration and discovery. What's around the corner? Where is this trail taking me? What will the snow be like on the other side of the mountain? A hundred questions, a hundred answers. I love them all.

As a ski writer for a number of different North American ski magazines, I've been lucky enough to travel around the skiing world, from the Swiss Alps to the Japanese Alps, from the Andes to Alaska, and lucky too to share these skiing adventures with so many skiing friends.

In this portion of my breakthroughonskis.com web site. I am going to showcase my favorite travel stories about my favorite ski destinations. I am busy re-designing those pages right now and hope to have them all up and on-line before long.

So please, be patient and stay tuned,   Lito
